I was installing my FE.net kit on my '06. Everything was going fine until I try to hookup my license plate light. It doesn't work. I then notice my gage cluster isn't on. I can start the bike, the headlights work, the brake light works, and the turn signals work.

The gage cluster doesn't work, the back running light doesn't work, and the license plate light doesn't work.

Did I blow a fuse? If so, which one and where can I find it?? Thanks for any help.

Yup you blew the fuse. The fuse box is under the left fairing. I think your going to need 2 10 amp fuses. The tail light will need a 10 amp fuse and so will the guage cluster. There is 1 spare 10 amp in the fuse box, so you will need to buy atleast 1.

you probably connected the wrong wires together...causing a short....which in turn causes the fuse to "trip".

the fuses regulate a certain amount of amperage or voltage. it also prevents or interrupts overvoltage spikes or reverse currents from continuing their path to whatever components before or after it, to protect them and protect the wiring from burning up.

fuses are a protective measure...hence why they blow ("trip") when the above stated happens.

circuit breakers are pretty much the same concept...except its got a spring trip so that it can be reset. it would be to big and bulky to put in our bikes.
