It is easy to unplug and plug back in but I think you have to take the front off.

HELP! gauge cluster wont work but bike runs
WTF! I started up my bike to head to work when i noticed that nothing on the cluster was working. The only display was the time, and the high beams light! I installed new fairings on my bike yesterday, and had to disconnect the head lights to accomplish this, so i hope that that is a clue. I can start the bike and shift through gears like normal operation, but no RPM, Gas meter, neutral light, Temp, or speed. has anyone else had this problem?!? i hope its just as easy as unpluging it and pluging it back in. im desperate for a solution!

well, it worked when i rode it around right after installing and the short ride to the local chow hall the next day. it was after sitting for 30 minutes that something bizaar happened and the guage wont show. ill look at the fuses and remove the front, pain in the a$$
Try unplugging & plugging any harnesses you can without removing any fairings - it might just be a loose connection.
unpluged the 3 main harnesses and re connected them with no luck, looked at the fuses on the left side, but not too closely, just looked for the burn on any of them, no luck. i dont want to ride without my visuals on the bikes status, and i dont want to take it down to the local honda dealer to have them stare in confusion at a wiring problem then tell me it will take 2 days and 500$ to fix. its an '03 by the way. please, somebody save me
MY guess would be the fuses or a connection..............but I think that has already been covered.....let me look at the service manual and get back to you.
The service manual suggests checking the Multi connector on the back of the gauge cluster. It also suggests checking the voltage between the black/brown wire (+) and the body ground (-).

wow, i owe you a blowjob, it was one of the 10 amp fuses that i had over looked. what would cause this fuse to blow? maybe reconnecting it with the high beams on? Thanks everyone!!!!
Yup. Any of the lights getting hit,blown ect wil cause this fuse to blow

what was the problem? fuse or a loose connection?
this happened on my trackbike, i lowsided and tore the rear-tailight harness and shorted the wires there, it burnt the fuse for my speedo....
