Got my new Hindle exhaust and need to install it. Instructions call for "High Temperature Silicone Sealant" at all joints. What are they talking about here? Is this, like, RTV gasket sealant? Is it even necessary at all? The old one I'm taking off didn't have anything on it.

Also, are OEM header gaskets okay or is there an aftermarket header gasket that will work better with an aftermarket header?

You can go to your local honda shop and pick up some "high temp hondabond"

That otta do the trick.

I didn't use any sealant on my new exhaust on a side note... not sure how critical it really is.

you probably didn't notice any sealant because it was black and probably came off very easily when you took off what you did.

when i replaced my stator cover there was this very thin black stuff were they touched, and i rubbed all that off and aplyed hondabond to the new one.

You can use any high temp silicon sealant and could probably get it alot cheeper at autozone... I have always sealed joints on my exhausts with high temp silicone but I'm a over compulsive neat freak. It bugs the crap out of me when I can hear exhaust/air coming out of anywhere but the muffler tip.

Thanks guys. I'll pick some up. At least now I have a brand/product name to go with so I know what I'm looking for.
