I have a trailer but I leave it at may farm... drive way at home is too congested to store a regular trailer... I am considering either a fold up trailer or a hitch tote... I have seen one hitch tote that says it is specifically for sport bikes...
what do you use?
I like the hitch tote idea it will take up less space when not in use, but I have 3/4 ton 4 wheel drive pick up that has an 8" lift kit and I am not to sure about loading the bike by myself when it will be a pretty sharp angle on the ramp.

Those hitch totes used to be for dirtbikes only, but I guess there are some out there now that can handle a 450lb + bike, which is cool. Like you said, loading could be an issue, pretty easy to walk a dirtbike up, but on a lifted truck I'm not sure how you could do it without at least one other person pushing.

Personally, I'm looking at folding trailers, because I also have no place to store a normal trailer when not in use.

harbor freight foldy trailer.

Fits in garage, can be modified to haul two bikes, and it's like $15 brand new.

Also I opted for a leaky breaky Jeep instead of a pickup truck, so the foldy trailer works great and isn't too heavy for my POS that overheats and has crappy brakes.

For those with finer taste you can get an F350 and a giant trailer with AC, a five star hotel room, and a full machine shop in it. ::cough:: xrated ::cough:: (I kid I kid)

Thank you very much. I started out with a 5' x 8' tilt trailer when I was doing track days by myself. Then I upgraded to a 6' x 12' enclosed and it was fine until I met a lady that I started dating and she wanted to do track days also. Turns out, she is into riding as much as I am and we got married a couple of years ago. Finally, last fall/this spring, I got the F250 diesel and a new 7' x 16' trailer. We are both Instructors with Sportbike Track Time's Southern Division.

That would be nice I guess, but it's only a lil ole F250 diesel and a 7' x 16' and sorry to disappoint, but no machine shop inside and no A/C yet. My wife and I spend a lot of time doing track days, as we are Instructors with Sportbike Track Time in the Southern Division, so a well set up trailer with an awning is almost a necessity here in the south during the hot summer months. I've come in after a session during June and July at Barber and it be 109 to 110 degrees in the shade under the canopy. I'm thinking that the A/C might be a requirement for next year. I'm 57 years old and she is 59 years old and these things can only come with time, unless you are rich and can afford them at an early age. Motorcycling is our only passtime/hobby, so I don't play golf, fish, hunt, or spend money on other things........this is it! Thanks for the kudos, we are certainly enjoying it.

I think my previous post could be misinterpreted, it was meant as satire more than anything.

It's great you and your wife do this. Have you ever considering driving around the US and riding a bunch of tracks? This is something I will do in my lifetime. Also if you instruct at Jennings I'll most likely be there in November for the STD event.

Annnnyways my point in the previous post is you can haul a bike cheaply and easily with just about any car/truck. I find the foldy trailers to be about as cheap and easy as it gets.

No worries........I didn't take it the wrong way. I would love to do a bunch of different tracks but I've only been on the job that I'm on for a little over three years and don't have a bunch of vacation time anymore. Maybe when we retire in about 7 years.

damn xrated...u 57 and wife at 59 & still kicking ass at the track...nicely done :shakehand dont get me wrong im not saying that u & ur wife r too old to be doin this but most ppl i know around that age arent tearing up a local track on their street bikes

Thank you. We both really enjoy it and as long as we are healthy enough to participate, I would imagine that we will continue. Here is a couple of pics of the 59 year old little lady. I'm truly a very lucky man to have found her.

There are quite a few fold-up trailer options out there; someone mentioned the Harbor Freights which seem to be the most basic/inexpensive. I used to have a Rocket single-bike trailer ($600 used) then upgraded to a Kendon dual bike trailer ($2K). The enclosed trailers are great if you have the room. I like the space savings and quality of the Kendon.

I usually use an open trailer with a wheel chock that doesn't have any parts that could bend a rotor.

buy a cheap used fullsize van.. i have a 1987 full size chevy conversion van i paid 1500 bucks for. i took out the rear folding bed/bench seat.. the bike goes in the van with tons of clearance, and i pack EVERYTHING else needed for racing in beside it. no trailor to haggle with, once everything is unloaded, i blow up the air mattress and camp at the track. when i get home, if i dont feel like unloading anything, i simply lock the doors on the van and walk in the house. altho i do have a 7x16 foot trailor that i paid good money for, i honestly became a nuisence (spelling). and with gas prices like they are, it took almost 1/2 tank more fuel pulling the trailor.. The van dont even know the bike is in the back of it..here is some pics of each..
