We are now in a recesion(depression?), and it is increasingly more difficult to justify costs from trackdays.

I'm not doing it to become a professional. So, I decided to rank it in the greater scheme of things.

1) Mortgage
2) Car
3) Food
4) *****
5) Exersize
6) Vacations
7) School
8) Family
9) Track days
10) Boos
11) TV

Track days are ranked pretty high for me, as they are really vital for my personal well-being. I get very irritated and depressed if I don't hit up the track regularly.. but obviously family and vitally important things like food and a home take precedence when need be.

I agree though, they can get very expensive, very fast, which is why I volunteer to help an organization like TrackTactics, which focuses on bringing wonderful track days to people for ludicrously low prices.

Haven't had a chance to go to a track day (or have a track nearby) but riding in general I'd say ranks high. After all the responsibilities and bills I rank riding at #1. But definitely plan on doing a track day some day!

well to me in the top 5 because i used to ride rain shine snow to work, military, didnt have the money to ship her car, etc so she drove my truck and i sucked it up. so now it is pretty high and valuable to me for my "stress"

yea the economy hurts that's for sure! Luckily everywhere I ride I get to ride for free, so it hasn't slowed me down. I'll have about 46 track days in this year. My problem is tires!!! I spend so much on tires I need a second job.

Can get a tire sponsorship but it's not from who I WANT it to be LOL

For me it would just be:

1. my g/f
2. Work
3. track days

Track days are a major portion of my time so they rank high. lol

Me thinks it starts with the letter P and ends in Y.

I just recently started doing Trackdays.... Previous to that I had a goal in mind to hit a number of miles on the road... Lets just say a few trackdays in, and now I only ride the street once or twice a week, because its boring as shet.....

Trackdays are definitely creeping up the ladder of priorities for me... :drunk:

I pay my mortgage payment, make sure my important bills are paid and then track days are next. I'll eat ramon noodles for a week if I have to, in order to get the money for a new set of tires.

I'd rather be on the track than getting some.... That's an easy one.

I did my first track day in May of this year...
my second was just last weekend @ Barber...

now I have one lined up every month for the rest of the year. we shall see how that works out for me.

But yea, riding in general is ranked pretty high in my book.

Seems that the only reason I work so that I can pay my bills and have somewhere to keep my motorcycle.

work
food
bills
trackdays
internet

in order to save money i paid the full membership fee for this season which costs $250 which gives me the privilege of using the track at any given time as long as it isn't booked. it costs $30 per day per rider to rent the track.

now i would only have to worry about transportation, fuel, food & shelter when i go to the track, in order to save again i buy my fuel near there which is TAX FREE (it's inside the freeport) & i camp out there inside the tracks & sleep at the bed of the pick up, i just bring a mattress, blanket & a fan. for food i just go to the nearest Mc Donalds which is just a couple of kms away.
