This is my first DIY and was an after thought so feel free to ask me about anything as I did not take that many pictures during the process
LED Backlighting + Running lights:
Ok this is fairly easy and resembles the "krazy eyes" mod. Its great for ppl who are adding projectors because the "krazy eyes" will only light up part of the lens, plus you will already be modifying the housing...
What you need: led's, glue, drill, wire, and time...
I used the 12v pre-wired leds from oznium:
http://www.oznium.com/prewired-superflux and I just used some 20 guage wire from radio shack
ok first you will need to remove the headlight from your bike( pleas search or see your manual for instructions if you do not know how to do this)
next you will need to take apart the headlight. I fallowed the directions found here:
http://www.600rr.net/vb/showthread.php?t=159797
now that you have every thing apart you get to star drilling!

hyeah:
since i had projectors I went with a running light on each side and one under the projector but you can install them where ever you wish....
I drilled a hole big enough to recces the the led's in the middle of the housing, then I tilted them forward slightly and glued them down.
The left side was easy since it had that little lip, I just glued one behind that
The right side I just glued it down about in the same spot as the other, there may be a better way to do this but that is what I did. Its still hidden pretty well by the projector.
now heres where I dont really have any pictures... I tied them into the wires for the 3rd eye. On the wiring harness that gos to the speedo there is a plug and a fuse. There are two wires that run to the 3rd eye, I dont remember exactly but I believe brown is hot and green is ground.
I spliced two sets of wires (one set for the left and one set for the right.. 4 wires total) I then solderd the gounds form the led's on the right to the gound wire I ran from the 3rd eye same for the left. I only ran the hot (red) of the white led's to the hot(+) wire from the 3rd eye...
I ran both of the positive(red) wires from the red lights to a switch (red is kinda illega so I wanted to be able to turn them off) then to one of the hot wires from the 3rd eye.
hopefully this will help
Then proceed to put everything back together, I hid the wires in between the headlight assembly and the front fairing.... and enjoy a beer.
