Thanks

You flip the shift linkage on the transmission 180. There is this hose on the left and the hose that is right up close to the shift rod. Take 3 zip ties. Put one on the left hand hose, one on the right hand hose, and one that goes through them tighten them up untill you have just enough room for the rod. It is only 1/4-1/2 inch but I have had the shift pattern like that for the last 3 months and 2000 miles and it will not rub. It can be done. You will be very pleased with the results when you do . Good luck  8)
Thanks hawaii600rr!

I'll let you know how it goes...

I have the vortex rearsets...I was thinking about going with the reverse shifting....if anyone has their bike with reverse shifting let me know what you think about it.....do you like it better than regular...is it hard to get use to...

It really only makes sense if you are doing regular track days. Not much benefit on the street, especially considering the additional mental load it takes to get used to it. (It's been 6 months after I switched mine to GP shift for track duty, and I have a brain fart and forget every once in a while.)

I use to love using GP shift...it was so nice and felt like I saved time on the track...but when I got back into dirt riding, it screwed me all up so I went back to regular shift!! Could be disastrous if you forget which way to shift!!!

I personally prefer standard shift pattern. I ran the GP for a little while on my previous trackbike and i found that if i ever miss a shift it is always when pulling up on the shifter. Pulling up on the shifter to upshift and missing the gear is a little embarassing and causes you to lose a little time but pulling up on the shifter to downshift while braking right before a tight turn and missing the gear will send you out into the grass.

Try it and see how you like it....it's easy to put back. Some people love it.
This is great news! I was mulling over spending on a rearset as soon as I get my CBR600RR. Wow, I can have the GP parttern without spending some 350 clams. I've switched over to GP pattern ever since my TZ250. I can't ride the regular pattern without locking up the rear at least once per ride. Now if I can just get a good deal on a CBR600RR.

Motobie,

i got the rearsets because of the positioning. the stock rearsets aren't high enough or far back enough for me.

as far as a good deal, there's a guy up here that has an 03 yellow 600rr for sale for 7 but he said he'll go down, it's got 1800 miles on it. you could probably talk him down to 65 plus a couple hundred for shipping. i can get you in touch with him if you like.
