So how about a thought exercise then...

Problem: Bike starts in the morning no worries... after about 15mins riding it drops a cylinder. Go into work, come back out at the end of the day and it starts again no worries, then 15 minutes later it drops that cylinder... Same thing happens every day.

What's broken?

start with the free stuff....you have 3 other coils that work, switch it with one of those. See if the problem follows the pack. If it doesn't follow the pack, switch the plug to the other cylinder.

Ignition coil on the way out?

Well that was boring... you old(ish) blokes know to much :)

For those who had no idea, the reason is that as the bike heats up the coil pack heats up, all of the windings expand and if you have a break in your primary winding it will open circuit as a result. As the bike cools, the windings contract and that open circuit goes away as the wires touch together again.

Used to happen on older cars a fair bit, not so often any more though.
