Internal bar weights sticking out
Hi guys,
I own a 2013 600RR.
hoping someone can help me make sense of this annoying issue.
Unable to install bar ends on the left side as the internal bar weights is sticking out of the handle bar. The bar weight seems to get stuck when trying to insert it all the way.
if I install the bar ends as is , guaranteed to fall off as there is no support. Any help on what I’m doing wrong?

Remove grips
Heat up bar near ends with blow-torch
Tap bar-end threaded plug deeper into bar with socket.
let cool, put grips back on
Install new bar-end

Yes, best way is to not melt stuff.Thanks dannoxyz.

Sure can use heat-gun. Be sure to hold it close and move around constantly. Takes about 8-10min to get up to proper temp.
Thanks I’ll give it a shot and update the thread. And yes will be sure not to melt anything
My buddy and I found the issue - there was a broken weight inside the bar
