Maybe just fuel impurities pooling at the bottom? I've never had sludge that bad in any tank. Closest to that was a fourwheeler I had when I was a kid that had fuel always standing in it. It left some slime in the carb and some mud looking stuff in the tank. Not as much as that though.

if racefuel had any impurities it will be more likely solid than a liquid & only water would be actually settling down the bottom of the tank b'coz gasoline/racefuels have a low specific gravity so it would float above water, just the clear separation is a dead giveaway.

given enough time water trapped inside the gasoline container can turn mucky, it may not look like water but i'll bet it is water, try pouring it out & feel it by your fingers.
My cousin had and old truck that leaked oil into the cooling system and when I did the radiator flush what came out looked exactly like that and it was plenty of it, but forsure put some on your fingers and try to feel what it is.
Put some stabill in your tank and let it sit for about 3 days,it will disolve it and run it thru the system.

Being that you're in a desert,I can see how dirt could build up like that in the tank.

In case you can't find it in your area.

I was hoping it might be just water or impurities pooling at the bottom. It wasn’t out of my gas tank but out of my gas can (the “plastic” gas can I use for racing). I noticed what I thought were air bubbles flowing into the tank when pouring. Then I looked into the bottom of the can and noted that crap in the bottom and took the sample pictured. I didn’t take any chances … pulled the tank and removed the fuel pump. It all looked ok.

I guess it was nothing but it freaked me out.

Thanks for the input.
How old is that gas? Are you using Stabil in your gas can? If it's pretty new I'd be buying my gas from someone else from now on.
Looks like someone took a crap in your gas can and the gas broke it down into a poop pudding.
what i learned in motorcycle class....
best time to get gas is when its cold..in the morning.
you get 5 percent mo gas.
plus never get gas when the rigs are making a gas delivery...the impurities and sludge get swooshed up from the bottom of the supply tanks and u get to buy it with your gas...
i bet alot of yall already know this but i thought id put it out there...
as for the gas boogers...i dont know. mang.
