Just installed the GPR today at lunch. It was a easy instillation that took about 10 min. The hardest part was tracking down a 35mm socket to tighten the new short aluminum head bolt that came with it so that the damper could fit over the mounting plate. Stock bolt is too tall.

A GPR company official told me NOT to tighten the new aluminum head bolt to the stock steel bolt torque setting because I would strip it. The stock torque is 76 lbs.
(good thing I called him because they mentioned nothing of this in the instructions.)

Place the mounting plate over the top triple clamp. Align it to the triple clamp. Screw on the new aluminum head bolt and tighten it until it feels tight. I used blue lock tight on the head bolts and hex screws. Tighten down the alignment screw on each side up to the tripple clamp..

Next, I added the post anchor that bolts onto the tank mounting holes and slid the post on. Pretty simple except you need to tap the collar on the post down so the damper sits flat on to the damper mounting plate.

Lastly, I screwed the GPR damper onto the mounting plate and over the post. Done....

10 min.. Easiest install on the Double R yet..
(besides the swingarm spools)...

Note to self: Do not adjust the GPR damper backward from 1 to 6 while going real slow... The steering tightened up so much that I almost dumped it :bitchslap:....well, not really but I could imagine someone else who wasn't prepared dumping it....

Now, I cant wait to take it for a real ride... The nice thing about the GPR is that I can buy a mounting plate for my dirt bike and swap it from bike to bike. Also, GPR said it should be serviced once a year and it can be done at the truck, at the races.... So that would be Laguna Seca for me! And did I mention it has a lifetime warranty! Cant beat that...

They are made in Chula Vista if I remember right. Not that far from me. It's where I lived before moving to a nicer place.
Ah... I wonder if they would be interested in a group buy for 600rr.net?

There was a write-up on this damper in the latest issue of RoadRacing World...it seemed to fair well in the writer's test.

If you cannot torque the crown nut, then the front end is neither rigid, nor safe. I would get rid of any crown nut that is too weak to torque.

if you can make that sucka nice and tight you shouldnt have a problem..I never had a problem with any of my bikes on or off the track and I dont even own a torque wrench
I had talked with the GPR rep. and he insisted that if the "crown nut" were to come loose than it would result in just a loose damper and would need to be re-tightened. This damper works Awesome! I had such a nice ride with it yesterday out G-16. When I got to the turn around point I was able to adjust it from my desired setting 4, to setting 1 and do a sharp u turn on the bike with no problems. On the way back I hit my favorite set of bumps in the road and instead of my bike giving me head shake, It felt like I was floating on a cloud! I highly reccomend this product for the Double R......
