I rode a ninja 250r about 5 years ago for a little while and quit riding for a while. Recently I was in the market for a bike. I almost went for a Fz6 but the CBR won me over. I got a 2007 600rr with about 8000 miles on it. Fantastic deal from the seller. Absolutely love it. Anything a new owner should know?

A couple questions I had.

Anything a new owner should look out for/check out on his bike?

What's your guys opinion on saddle bags for a cbr 600rr? (commuting purposes)

Any cool/necessary mods I should do? (I'm looking at integrated turn signal mirrors at the moment)

Congrats on the purchase!

There's not much for a new owner to look out for, other than to ensure the bike's been well serviced.

For luggage, I'm a big fan of Kriega products. They're great for touring as the bags can be stuffed full of all you need, and the smaller ones can be clipped together or clipped onto larger ones if you need to carry a lot.
Generally I mainly use the Kriega backpack though, and the US10 tailpack. The tailpack is plenty big enough for chain, padlock and waterproofs; and the backpack is supercomfy, and takes everything else I'd need for a day.
They're not cheap, but fully waterproof and excellent quality. And they don't spoil the look of the RR either

US20 with US10 clipped on top.

And just the US10 tailpack

I actually ended up getting a Kriega bag. Someone was selling one locally for 45 bucks. Kriega US20. These things hold a LOT. Deceptively a lot ?

That's a great price! I'm sure you'll get good use from it.
The one downside is that I clip mine to my actual rear seat, rather than the rear seat cowl to avoid damaging the paint. But then when you unclip the tailpack and tuck the straps back under the seat you're left with the rear passenger seat instead of the sexy cowl.

I can pack pretty much all my clothes for a 3 day trip in a US20. If you can find a US10 too, you can clip it to the US20 and you'll have loads of space for stuff.

One more question for yall. Is It worth it to go catless? I heard that there's not THAT much gains from getting headers.

If I were you I would go ahead and get a full exhaust system with a power commander of some sort. The power commander is going to wake the bike up a lot. I would get the two bros exhaust. It sounds the best and looks the best to me. Also has amazing fitment. Gains with this are going to be slight but pretty noticeable.
