Looks like its gonna be a beast going after the BMW S1000RR

New Motor, New Frame, New Suspension

"The new model is rumoured to have not only variable valve timing similar to that found on the new GTR 1400 but also variable valve lift, a crossplane crank with radical 540° firing interval, traction control, ABS and possibly even electronically controlled suspension. Expect the new bike to begin appearing in the press officially round about October 2010, for release soon thereafter"

As long as they don't make it look goofy like the last one. 05-06 Zx6r looked best imo

Doesn't Kawi say that everytime they have to redesign the bike because it's not competitive...which is nearly every year?

The next few years is going to be a lot of fun. A lot of new technology hitting the street bikes. I'm a two wheeled fanatic, so I get a kick out of seeing all this great stuff coming out for us two wheeled nuts. I think we'll see stuff in the next two or three years on sport bikes that five years ago we would have never dreamed about. It's gonna be interesting.

I agree. 2010 was kind of a set back year w/ some bike companies not putting out new models. The big four have designed and manufactured their bikes based off of billions of dollars invested into R&D and have pretty much tweaked the bikes to the beautiful machines we have today. So coming up w/ new ideas and designs aren't as easy as it use to be. I believe the main focus now is Traction Control. Some bikes have it, but it's not the greatest from what I understand. I've also read that they have actually developed airbags for riders that should hit the public market next year.

Dainese and AStars have developed suits with air bags in the shoulder and neck areas but they are not available to the general public yet. We will have to wait about 1 or 2 years for them.

As for this Kawi marketing campaign, until I see it in action it is just a really cool drawing.

cool, I actually have been a big fan of Kawasaki's styling on most of their sportbikes for a while. if anything Honda is the ugly duck compared to the rest. (IMO of course)

yeah but the price will be around $15k..
probably, but considering a 450cc MX bike is over $8k now it kinda makes sense.

There have been a couple of companies that have come out with air bag vests.

That is an interesting design for the zx. I think it would look even better with a shorter/smaller exhaust.
Spidi has one too.

I liked the styling of the 05 ZX10R...I think? If I remember correctly, the thing felt really freekin balanced too.

I'm interested in seeing if any of the things coming out of the Moto2 class actually make it to the 600RR next year. It's practically free R&D for Honda. At the very least, I'm wondering if 2010 will be the last year of underseat exhaust for the bike. I don't think anybody has it configured that way in Moto2.
