I have a guy coming back tomorrow to make a deal on his 2004. it's a nice bike, but I wanted to sask you guys what I should watch out for with this model/year.
Any specific failure prone parts or areas?
Also it's got a salvage title from the PO dropping it and spashing up some of the fairings. It looks fine now, and they are new fairings (with a 05 front end). The bike rides great and feels connected, and firm.
So any pointers would be really appreciated!

Here are the mods:
520 sprocket conversion
Pc3 power commander
OEM solo seat cover
Frame sliders
Puig windscreen double bubble
integrated turn signal on the back
LED front turn signals
Akraprovic exhaust system

Painted lower fairings to match the bike
Powder coated swing arm (from silver to black)
Powder coated rearsets (from silver to black)

PS I noticed when he was leaving (the bike cooled down for about an hour+) there was noticeable whiteish smoke...Looked like water vapor you see coming from cars, even the nice new Benz's Jag's etc...Any Ideas on that?
It's a badass bike and I want it!

Thanks guys!

1st look for damage to the forks and wheels, run your fingers around
the F and R wheels/rims and feel for damage . Look down the forks
like you would an arrow for straightness Then look at the oil and see
if it looks clean and ask about brand of oil used in the bike and
ask the miles at what it was changed. cup your hand around the
F/R tire and feel for uneven wear ( tire being run low) and also look at the chain
and sprockets for wear, If the chain has been looked after there should be almost
no noticeable wear. One more thing, Look at the exhaust tip and look for burnt oil
if there is ANY WET BLACK OIL pass on the bike.

When the bike is cold and the temp is not hot outside you will see condensation
for a short time coming from the tail pipe , Mine is the same but it stops soon
after the bike starts to warm up
