I lost my neighbor two years ago. Everything seems like such a blur from that week. I saw him leave his driveway on his panhead and not 20 minutes later I heard sirens around the block. My other neighbors came and told us that he had been hit by a car that failed to halt at a stop sign. He was pronounced dead on the scene. The paramedics said his head had connected with the windshield. HE WAS WEARING HIS HELMET, but at the speed he was hit, it was a lost cause.

Its hard to believe this even happened....its like a dream. But every time I leave my driveway on my bike I say a little prayer for him and his son who is in high school. I will never ride quite the same.

I hope this can be a little lesson for everyone. You gotta drive for everyone on the road, not just yourself. There's a lot of a**holes out there.

They never did find the person responsible for hitting him.

His funeral precession was so memorable that I am proud to say I could participate in it. Over 200 bikes showed up to escort his body to the cemetery. We all loved him, I had grown up riding with him back in the day when I rode on the back of my fathers bike.

He might be gone but he will live on forever through me and all those that knew him.

I miss ya and will never forget.
