2004 16050 miles

even when at idle just sitting there...clutch fully depressed, kick down from neutral to first....loud pop and the bike jumps forward a tad... maybe 1/8 of an inch... all upshifts are fine and smooth.....down shifts are a bit rouch even when matching the engine rpm going into the lower gears...same result without matching the rpm... does it hot or cold... doesnt seem to care... not every single time either....just whenever it feels like it.

not sure how transmissions are set up in bikes :/ im used to cars...either they slip...or dont go in gear at all and grind like crazy..

Clutch/clutch cable properly adjusted? Maybe you need to change your oil, or use better oil (synth). It will make your clutch work better. It should clunk a little into first.
