When the bike is around 5-6000rpm there is a really loud tick or rattle. I look at it seems as if it were inside the left hand grip. The bike has been down and the left side bar end snapped off so its just open and i can see a metal piece with a threaded hole in it that seems to boucne around. I figured this is the source, but was curious if anyone else has an idea. Its not the engine btw.

Depending on the year, the RR also has a vibration issue with the tank cover as well, and it does happen right around 5-6K rpm. IIRC, there's a tutorial on this site as to how to remedy it.

It's the gas tank cover.
Remove the gas tank cover and you will see where it's rubbing (the rubbing leaves a very visible mark. Cover these spots which some dampening material. Pretty much anything. I used the velcro stips that come with the power commander (or was it from my scorpio alarm?). Bah, just remove the tank cover and you'll see!

is it near the left front side of the cover. If so then this is the culprit.

It's the tank cover! It was driving me mad, I held my hand on the tank while accelerating.

Take it off, and put some double-sided tape foam where the rub marks are on top of the ECU holder. Or anything else that will keep the plastic from contacting.

muffler bearings bro, muffler bearings.

ok but on a serious note. If the bike has been down you might have snapped the inner weight on the clip on.
Well i checked the muffler bearings earlier this year but they were snug. Could be the headlight fluid though. . Anyways i can see the weight inside the clip on just moving around freely. Anyway to get it stationary?
