Change The Oil. To keep your engine running properly, you'll need to change the oil after several thousand miles —check the owner's manual to find out how often.
Replace The Air Filter.

Go get yourself a decent tool set, something with a range of spanner, sockets, allen keys etc, some screw drivers, a paddock stand and some lubricants, oil, chain lube, WD40 etc. Then get to tinkering.

Pads, oil, plugs, air filter are all good places to start. Nice and easy but strong on the maintenance check list.
