ok heres the story. I have an 06 600rr, changed the oil yesterday as well as put some flush mount rear turn signals on her. This morning i went to get some gas and as soon as i shifted into second the MIL came on n the bike died. it started right back up and the light was off. I just figured that since i changed the oil i just had to let it cycle some more n it would be fine. after i got gas i went on a 50 or so mile ride with 0 problems n parked it. Tonight i went on a quick trip to redbox to get my movie on with the wife n it happened again. same thing it started right back up, no light n got the movie n drove home with no problems. What could be wrong?

Chances are that you have a loose plug, particularly on of the ones on the left hand side going to the front. Your MIL lamp is probably coming on as a result of loosing oil pressure not as a result of something else going on.

Yeah I don't know why I was so focused on the light itself it just comes on like if u were to put the bike n gear with the kickstand down or something. Anyways, can u be a little more specific about these plugs? Haha I'm new to the bike world so I need a little more detail. I didn't mess with the battery or anything when I was installing the lights, just the pulled n cut the taillight wires from the back.

Left hand side under the ram air cover, two plugs that connect the bikes harness to the front harness.

holy hell i found out what i did... this is how much of a noob i am hahaha.... so for like 10 or 15 seconds i was messing with the idle control knob thinkin it was a dipstick the other day hahaha.....anyways what i had done was turn it just enough to where it would ilde but when i would accelerate and release the throttle while the engine was cold it would drop the rpm so low it would literally stall hahaha. i just happenned to be flipping through the manual looking for the location of the harness u were talking about and saw the diagram that pointed out the idle speed control and was like jesus im an idiot that has to be it. anyways, i'll get the hang of it soon enough, thanks for the help man hahaha.

Cool, glad to hear you have it sorted out.

I misread your first post... I thought you had said you did the signals front and rear, which would necessitate unplugging those two connectors to do the front. I just figured one was loose and causing your problem...
