I would assume you took pictures? If they are properly dated that may help. Idk what else you could do, possibly have one or both of those mechanics sign something acknowledging they went over the forks and they were legit.

Good luck man, sh*tty situation for sure. Hopefully someone will hit you up with better advice

im an ebay fanatic too and this guy just sounds like a d*ck first of all....

seems like he's trying to play the "guilt" game... If he was so concerned about the box did he ever take pics of it? did he take pics of the forks themselves?

do you have the pics you posted when you sold the item?

imo it feels like he's trying to scam some money out of you as if a discount or something.

He could be legit, he could also be fake... but first gather ALL of the details...

If he returns the item, MAKE SURE HE SENDS BACK EXACTLY WHAT YOU SENT TO HIM EXACTLY HOW YOU SENT IT.... crooked people will try and put completely new forks and act like its all good...

It could of been damage during shipping, bro.

Ask him if there was damage to the shipping box.

Ask him for pictures of the crooked forks.

If you think he's running a game, get your work orders from the inspection.

Dont have work orders?

Go back to the people that inspected it and ask if they're willing to have an affidavit verifying the forks working condition.

CepheiA nailed it, my first instinct is damage during shipping. Tough situation because he could easily claim you sent him a damaged part, get paypal to reimburse him, then send you back the damaged one. I kno FedEx and UPS offer $100 insurance when you ship with them so that might be something to look into as well. In my opinion this guy is trying to take advantage of you, If you know you packaged it well there's no way it could be mishandled enough to bend it. I'd contact paypal ASAP to see what your best option is. Good luck, keep us up to date on what happens.

It could have been shipping damage, but at that point they would've had to back over it with the mail truck.

Did you put "as is" anywhere in the eBay description? If you included those two words, I'm pretty sure it releases you from liability. I've dealt with people trying to scam me, and eBay is used to it. If you have good detailed pictures and good feedback, even if this guy does report you, you will more than likely be in the clear. I'd have the buyer talk to whoever delivered the package.
