I was riding this evening i rode for about an hour or so and then i stopped and took a break for about 20 mins. After that i got back on my bike to go home and i was about to pull off into traffic and i thought i saw a light flicker in my cluster but i could really tell b/c i was watching for traffic. Then after i pulled out i thought i seen it again but like i said i was riding in high traffic area so i was concerned about that more than the flickering light. So i dont notice anything and then about a mile up the road i was heading up a hill and a car was coming so i pulled the clutch lever in as i was going down the hill and the light came on all the way for like one sec. And then i was like 5 miles from that point home and it didnt come on again. I dont know what it could be i hope its just a loose wire maybe. I checked the oil levels in the glass and it was full. Ill check things a little more in the light tmw and take it for a ride to see if it comes on. Any suggestions would be great, this has never happened since ive had this bike.

Thanks in advance.

Did you let your engine warm up to operation temp and letting sit for 5-10 minute before checking the oil level?

Well the bike was still warm i hadnt been off it but long enough to walk inside and get a flash light and go back out side i checked it off first and then i started and let it for for 5 mins while i was checking it. I just looked it up and i thought it was the oil light but i guess the read light is actually the mil light. It was the circular red light right above the oil symbol.

So after discovering that the light i saw was the mil light i read in the manual that if you turn the key to the on position if the bike is throwing a code the mil light will blink will the key is in the on position. So i went to my parents and put the key in my bike a the mil light did not flash and went for a ride and it didnt come on at all maybe it was a loose wire or a fluck.

So the mil light came on again. It was almost the exact situation i was out riding and then i stopped to talk to friends and the temperature dropped down and it was almost dark. I fire the bike up by now its cold and i take off after about 30 secs of it running. I take off kinda of hard and the light flashes on and i grab the clutch and it goes right off. I ride the bike home and the light doesnt come on again at all.

I get to my destination turn the bike off and then i turn the key back on to see if the light flashes(for throwing a code) The light stays lit the whole time til the full pump finishes priming and it clicks the light flashes once as soon as the fuel pump finishes. Im pretty sure thats common on every start up. But i get no flashes whatsoever when i first turn the key on.

i had my FI light come on today, i didnt let the bike warm up it was a little chilly like15C, pulled out of driveway down street i cranked the throttle a little and noticed the light come on drove to end of street and pulled over. had to shut off bike to get manual and when started it up no light stayed on and no flashing signals only. the lights stay lit until fuel pump is primed then shuts off as usual. my bike is an 07 and have not done any exhaust mods only lights (tail and front signals). curious aswell let me know if you hear anything.

So now today i was riding and my rpms were around 5k-6k and i was slowing down quick and grab the clutch heard the engine cut like usually i let go of the clutch down shift and the light goes out...i grab the clutch again to down shift another gear light comes on but goes off when i get to the lower gear. Now when i turn the bike on the light comes on til the fuel pump is primed then it shuts off but if i sit and wait without starting it the light comes back on and stays. Please any suggestions im gonna try to post a video its kinda crappy tho. I posted the video to see if the actions of the mil light are normal.

Check your Oil Pressure Sending Unit connection. it's under a rubber cap near your oil site window. you may need to remove the lower fairing to gain access.

One thing stood out to me in one of your posts. You said that you usually let it run for 30 seconds before taking off kind of hard.

Don't do that. Let it warm up to at least 100 degrees before riding, and then take it easy on it until it is up to operating temperature. A lot of engine damage can be caused by improper warm up then beating it.

LanCo Rider: The oil hasn't had a chance to heat up at all with the water temp at 100*. i fail to see the point of letting it idle that long before "beating it".
