I asked the same thing. Some put it on the fairing. I had mine on a bracket I mounted behind the windscreen, but once I painted it, I had to move it. Made a small bracket and attached it to the bottom of the forks.

Look at the bottom right of the pic

thanks thats what i was thinking of doing. one question though, why did you paint your windscreen? i have noticed a few people do this but it seems like you wouldnt be able to see while tucked.
I never have to tuck that low.....I dont know of anyone that does tuck other than for racing...and to be honest, not sure you can really get low enough...
I went to Office Depot and got some laminate sheets (like contact paper) and stuck my sticker to the underside of my windscreen. It can be removed and stuck back on over and over (probably bad if your can't see you bike at all times) I work in a gated area so I don't have to worry about people pulling them off. I'd post a picture but my camera is in the shop.

cool. it looks good i just thought it might cut your vis. i am still holding out to august to get mine and just wanted to get a heads up on painting them.
There is no way in hell I'm going to put one on my bike, but it helps being and AF cop I can get away without having one.
damn you Blade-Runner, i dont want to have to put one on my bike either....haha. Altus is the worst base that i have been to in regaurds to gate security. anyway i wont get into it.
I hated Altus.....LOL
i put in on the left fork tube between the triples. that way its not to visiable and i can take it off easy cause its bare metal.
I haven't put mine on yet. Haven't felt the need.
I was in the Vehicle Maintenance section back in 94-96....Cross trained into Safety and moved to Sheppard for some time, now here at Wright-Patt (and hate it..lol)

When I had a clear screen, I mounted it to a long piece of thin metal. Took off the windscreen, and one mirror, drilled a hole in the metal and bent it around the cluster. Put the screen back on and it was great. Easy to take off if you had to.
thanks sideout, i think i may do the windscreen idea although i wont have to worry about it til august. im a kc-135 mechanic at altus so if you ever make it back this way or to sheppard give me a yell.
I have mine on the chain guard and I just stop to point it out. But BladeRunner has it right I think thats about the only benifit to being a cop in the USAF.
I just have to show my photo ID and that's it. But if I had to put one of those stickers, I would put it next to the front fender ~ on the forks. Or on the left fork ~ right under the clutch lever.
I'm surprised they let you get away with having it on the chain guard. I still havn't gotten mine registered on base though...I like the fork tube idea.
I had them put it on the tube in between the triple clamp and the fork. Slightly hidden there so I don't mind it as much. You would think they would make the stickers smaller for bikes. But nooooo, they have to be a huge banner....
They will only put ours on the frame or the front fork now. We no longer have a say in where it goes on New River, just thrilling. Mines on my front fender right by the left fork.
