Hey.

I was just doing a pre-ride check on Tuesday before I went out, with the bike on its rear stand. I spun the back wheel forward and heard a new noise I'd not heard before. There's a clicking noise as I spin the wheel, in both directions. I looked more closely at the rear sprocket and it looks like it's not inline with the chain. The adjusters are correct and the chain is correctly adjusted. Heck, I even pulled out the Verniers and checked the adjusters on either side and they're the same! Any ideas on what's up?

Ta,
proze:)

you could always align it using the string method. but unless your sprocket is wearing funny, or the chain is jumping off, you should be fine. hell, you aughta hear the chain and sprockets on the fiddy, the make alot of noise when rolling it out of gear.

The noise and misalignment you mention would worry me.

I think it would be worth the peace of mind to pull the front sprocket cover and make sure it is on tight and properly. Hell, you may have lost your nut and the sprocket is inching its way towards a disaster.

Stock sprockets or aftermarket? Usually aftermarket sprockets are offset one way, so they can be installed incorrectly.

if there was an alignment issue with your sprockets they would wear very fast... your chain is always loud when u spin the tire but usually its drowned out by exhaust and engine sounds. clean and lube your chain . might be dirty or dry
