About the circuit
The Circuito de la Comunitat Valenciana was completed in 1999 and held rounds of the MotoGP and Spanish Motorcycle Championships in the same year. The Cheste track has several layouts, running anti-clockwise with varying lengths. MotoGP events are held on a 4km track comprising of five right handed corners, eight left handers and a 650m straight. Although the track is regarded as quite small, the pit complex contains 48 garages whilst the stadium style grandstands can seat up to 150,000 spectators. The circuit layout which allows all parts of the circuit to be seen from any stand helps to create a unique atmosphere enjoyed by Spanish and international riders alike and as the last race of the season there is always a party feeling to the Grand Prix, which was voted best GP of 2005 by IRTA.

I am not an expert.... but is it possible to happen even if they have the protection to that lever?
i know what you mean Gio, but i was thinking about that actually, a bump or hit from the side no , however i can sort of see you being able to directly hit the brake lever allbeit slightly from an above downward motion if you know what i mean... not saying this is what occurred but if you position Marc turning in and lower and Vale coming downward i can see it happening. of course all speculation. The track guys can comment more on this im sure

to be honest what im leaning towards is Vale did hit marcs arm/hand which inturn caused marc to suddenly grab a fist full of front brake which resulted of course in the crash. i don NOT think Vale meant to actually do that, i think it was him just reacting to Marc "turning into him" where Marc felt he had no other choice at the time, thats just my opinion...

I'm not happy about the situation, but...after this race I start the countdown to when tickets go on sale for Austin. Then get ready for next season, it is what it is.

yeah, just get this race over with and with this tainted end of the season - it's kind of blah.... hopefully some good races in the middle of the pack and hopefully Dani takes this victory as well

I dunno, I find this really exciting, I don't like it when the winner clinches 5 races out from the end.

Would love to see Aprilia and KTM come in and be competitive.

i'll cross post this from another forum. it's a break down of my prediction for valencia....

I can see it now

Dani and mark go right away, nobody can chase, dani 1, mark 2, Lorenzo in a lonely 3rd after an uneventful race

team mates dovi and iannone have a good race, plenty of exchanges, finish 4th and 5th respectively

Cal is riding well, has won the battle with Bradley and pol and has made some space for himself.

Rossi is charging hard, 3 laps to go he gets through Pol

2 laps to go he gets through Bradley

he closes the gap and in the last lap he manages to catch up to Cal. with only a couple of corners remaining, he attempts to drive up the inside, making hard contact with cal as he blows the corner right into him, punting him off track and ending his race, Rossi carries on as though nothing has happened, he does a huge victory wheelie and is given the championship and no penalty is handed to him

because he's Rossi, and that's what happens

dani's my boy. always has been. a lot of people hate him, namely nicky fans, but i think he's f'in awesome.

i'm really excited to see how he does next year. the guy's got amazing pace and very good consistency. if people don't take him out and break his bones he's a definite threat.
