So, I hope this free practice completely dispels any notion that the GP10 is some how less potent than the GP09. Last year, the fastest lap time was a 1'36.025 with a top speed of 296.948 kph, set by Rossi. Casey Stoner, in FP1, has already racked up a 1'35.645 with a top speed of over 298 kph.

I added a sliver of the rider profile and you'll see that Mr. Lorenzo has many red helmets. This was the way it was all day. Stoner would occasionally have some red helmets, but it was Lorenzo who had the majority of them. Stoner was equally fast, and in the clinching moments, he pulled off a one-off scorcher that put him 11-thousandths from Lorenzo. It's probably been the most aggressive that I've seen Stoner ride since Qatar. This can only be good for racing. Hayden is trying to show that he ain't going to have another Silverstone. Hayden is half a second off the two up top, but he's been progressing all day.

The most curious rider of the day was Dani Pedrosa. He looked to be sandbagging it around the course all day and then, at the last moment, he throws in the 6th fastest lap. He's still behind his teammate which can't be good with the HRC VP in attendance. Espargaro would have to get my ride of the day. He's really impressing me over the last two races and he's up there with the heavy hitters. Ben Spies is getting there. He's fast in some sections and slow in others, but at different times. If he can just put it all together, he'll be in good shape. He was right to say it's not going to be automatic. Just because you know a course, due to the differences in the bike, it means different braking point, different RPs, etc.

Here are the times:

So, while Stoner has been messing around with the older Ohlins in his front forks, Hayden has been trying out some more new parts to improve the Ducati. Looks like Hayden is taking over the development of the Ducati. Stoner is definitely on the way out.

hayden is a relentless test rider.

Is he really getting the goodies first? You mean this isn't Honda?

Nice! RDP is flying like a bat out of hell again. And Spies edging out Hayden is surprising to me. Spies is catching on fast in Assen. I would have thought Hayden would have edged him out for qualification since his testing the other day looked good.

Same here, we will see whats happens in the race. I think RDP will slip back and let the two Americans through who will then battle it out for the final podium spot unless Stoner crashes, in which case they will both podium. <---I like that scenario even better.

This was posted in a local meetup where I post race results too... Oh and I make sure and subject line them as spoilers...

"I'm curious why you post these spoilers? I think everyone can find this information elsewhere if they wanted to and I am sure some people don't want to know any results before they have watched the race(s)."
