Motorcycle chase on TV NOW! AWESOME!

1822 Views 40 Replies 28 Participants Last post by  ShrtBusDlux
There is a dude on a motorcycle running from police for armed robbery in Hermosa Beach. As always, I love watching these chases, but this is the first time I have seen a live motorcycle chase. My question is, why doesnt this dude, just take off into traffic?

I just keep thinking of that one chase where the guy on the cycle runs into a bus!

FAWK!

They never show the good chases, because the riders disappear too quick and they don't want the public seeing that.
these guys that do crap like that with a bike have the right idea....but wrong bike!
If you knew there would be a chance that you would be in a chase(i.e. Armed robbery)

why not use a more versatile motorcycle? like an enduro, where you can go into many different terrains and the cop cars couldn't follow.
i was watching this last night but fell asleep...how did it end?
they have to rob a bank before they have the cash to buy the enduro? or that was the only bike they could steal in a short period of time? :headscrat

i saw one in WA on cops...guy takes off doin 70 at night on some straight backroad. realizes hes not gonna win...just him and a cruiser. cop puts him on the ground and then the guy begs for the cop to not mess up his Arai. cop gets him in the car and asks if hes got any speeding tickets...he says...I've had like 30 but 26 got dismissed in court...stupid answer.
there has been a few on cops in lakewood/tacoma haha. The one Ill never forget was when some guy on a harley took off from the local kmart towards my old house...he didnt get far, and thats when he crashed and slid into the curb...doing about 80. Lets just say he wasnt wearing the right gear, and well one of those cereal bowl helmets. It wasnt too pretty.

+1 Damn you beat me to it
i saw that last night, he could have lost the cops if he went to bike night on sunset strip!
doesnt reallyt matter thebike isnt as fast as there radios ...
if he would have jetted at the first sign of the cop our police have a no chase rule where if the watch commander says to back off they have to go

i heard 30 something percent of all people running from the police on bikes get away in the first 2 min because their called off

cruisers cant manuver like bikes obviously
From that I know, thats if the biker has a passenger. they dont' want to hurt soemone who might not want to be involved in the chace ni the first place, bad PR.
passenger or not police wont use the pick (dont know how they spell it) manuver on a cycle because it's too dangerious.

It's suppose to be a controlled spin of a 4 wheel vehical and on a cycle theres no possible way to control it if you actually have to make contact with someones body to complete the move and send the rider to the ground which would most likely end in death or dismemberment.

pritty much just have to let it ride out like last night. the guy gave up after a while

ha ha ha,... funny.

Or just have ridden through LAX or something to loose the bird.
its the PIT manuever, and ya, they use their car to press against the rear quarterpanels of the fleeing car, hopefully spinning them around, in which time the blakc and white can position themselves to end the chase.
