Taking my MSF this weekend after having to reschedule it. I actually enjoyed it. Hopefully tomorrow I can have another good day, pass my tests and finally get my endorsement!
After being on those bikes for 4-5 hours I must say I greatly appreciate my RR that much more, it's a great bike!

Side note: what's with the MSF site being down? www.msf-usa.org

I highly recommend MSF courses!!! Everyone on a bike SHOULD be required to take it...I think it would make us all safe riders...but and then...we live in a NON-perfect world...

oh well...

i definately recommend it to all riders even if you have your endorsement. the class teaches you and lets you practice some very important techniques and situations.

i was surprised by the amount of people who claimed they have been riding for years and their skills lacked drastically. those same people who have experience still didnt possess the skills needed in the event of an emergency.

overall great experience and i felt that i learned many valuable skills . could possibly say that this is the best $25 i have ever spent in my life.

$25 !!!
I spent $225 and an additional $50 to reschedule because I was late to the range (damn 7am on a Saturday...)
At least I should get $75 back from Honda. Either way it seems way worth it to me.

I remember I was like, "hey this isn't my bike anyways" :bounce: ...those little 250cc bikes were kinda cool because I wasn't afraid to thrash them. I remember it was so weird when I went home and tried to ride my (other) 600.

I thought it improved my overall riding, and pointed out a lot of bad riding habits I never knew I had.

Passed. @nd in the class, other guy was a guy I made friends with and he had previously ridden for 8 years, so I did ok I suppose. I'm tired though, off to bed.

I don't remember what I paid here in Florida, but it was under $100. I had a 250 enduro type bike that was wicked! I scraped the pegs twice...and I could do u-turns (hanging AWAY from the bike like they teach in ultra slow u-turns) in well under 1-lane width.

OOH, and the log jump was pretty fun too!

I looked around down here in South Florida and it seems that the MSF is dominated/monopolized by a company called MTII www.mtii.com they were good though. My first set of instructors sucked, when I had to reschedule and got the last two I had this weekend it's the best thing that ever hapenned to me. The cost was a little rough at $225 (plus my idiotic $50 reschedule fee) but I think it's well worth it as I upgraded the most important part of my bike, the rider.
I had a Kawasaki 250 that was uncomfortable in posture for me because I'm used to the sportbike pretzel but it was smooth and very easy to handle making it perfect for so many hours of being beat up under the sun and doing exercises.

I took the course about 2 months ago. I also recommend it to anybody thinking of getting on a bike. It costs $350 c.d.n. (ouch) but you save that just in insurance discounts. I had to ride a Buell B- last for the two days. Man was that thing a DONKEY. I guess it was a good bike to teach people on though. I got a kick out of watching people with no co-ordinationat all try to ride a bike. A couple of guys decided to bring in thier bikes the second day. The instructors, who most of them rode Ducati's, were all over the 600RR!!!

i had to drive 1 hr. and 45 mins to the range. had to leave my home at 5:45am every morning. class was well worth the 25bucks. classes all near my home fill up so quickly. the woman said people actually stay overnight in the parking lot to enroll.

as for the advanced course i am interested in taking but most likely not going to cuz you have to bring your own bike. yes this helps ya practice but the worry of not having to be afraid of dropping a bike (like the basic course) is so much better. gonna see if i can get my friends 500interceptor back running and possibly look into it.

its amazing how many people drop their bikes while taking their test at the BMV. I went with my friend the other day to get his license and two guys dropped their bikes on top of themselves when having to perform the quick stop. one was a new shadow with temp tags :bitchslap: sucks to be you.

the class did nothing on saving me money on insurance due to progressive dropping the discount for the course. gonna look into a new insurer tomorrow.
