ill admit.... the triumph is the same price as the 06 RR. Honda needs to get off it's high horse BS attitude and lower the price a bit if it wants to compete in 07. But then again, that is JUST my opinion, so dont flame.
you also forgot to put the following;slvrblckrr said:How bout the new RR shaved 20lbs off it's predecessor?!
How bouught it's new electronic steering damper?!
The dyno's haven't even hit the pages yet. I think people are jumping to conclusions far too early on this one.
WHAT?!? From the looks of it, I would have thought that the redesign was tailored around sliders. Honda totally f'ed up if they built yet another bike that has totally redesigned plastic and we still have to cut it. There isn't even that much solid plast on it now, so it will probably look rediculous to put a 2" hole in it.sooperman12 said:Here's want I'm complaining about... After all this redesign, it looks like we still gotta cut the fairing to install sliders. There, we should complain about that!
Funny, I would've thought that a redesign would be tailored to making the bike more aerodynamic, lighter, etc.. sliders are still technically "optional".. albeit a good idea, but still optionalfrofan said:WHAT?!? THANK YOU!!! I just called one of your posts in another thread the best quote, but this is by far the better quote of the two. I would have said it myself, but you said it for me. PERFECT description.RC2llV said:I'm pretty sure the only ones complaining about the bike on this forum are the guys who don't do trackdays. Just the guys who upgrade thier bikes for looks and wheelie/stunna/I'm faster than you functionality.
Face it the new bike was designed to be a RACE REPLICA (RR) not a LAMER (LOOK AT MY EGO REPLICA)
I think I'm going to stay in this thread because the posts seem to be making more sense over here. I'm telling you all this talk about looks and colors and shtuff remind me of when I went car shopping with a lady friend. Picking the crappiest cars in the class just because it had the right colors and was "cute". Put some pants on boys and realize we got a good motorcycle here.OveRReV said:if basing your bike purchase on looks alone you are looking at the wrong bike & you should set your sights on Italy where their bikes are true eye candies, buy a Ducati 749/999 or even an MV Agusta F4 750/1000. Japs build bikes on a philosophy of "function before form" & if it looks good then that's an added bonus.
Honda didn't become the world's largest & best motorcycle manufacturer b'coz of it's products are good to look at, it's b'coz their products are very damn good.
Every bikes that has a redesign phase say they have a new and improved midrange and top end power every year. Of course there needs to be improvements but the price shouldn't increase by $500 bux. There are many options out there and now people tend to pick a bike for its look & reliance. With a tag of $9,500 you can look elsewhere and save money. I guess if you bought a damper it would cost $400. We will just have to wait and see the price of other manufactures.OveRReV said:you also forgot to put the following;
all new more compact & lightweight 599cc engine
4-1 exhaust system with exhaust valve (similar to EXUP)
improved midrange & top end power
new bodywork enhances handling & performance (in laymans terms it's more aerodynamically efficient less airdrag)
new transmission gear ratios (close ratio)
looks are only skin deep, it's what's under that counts.
I will agree with you to a certain extent, but lets put it into perspective.RC2llV said:I'm pretty sure the only ones complaining about the bike on this forum are the guys who don't do trackdays. Just the guys who upgrade thier bikes for looks and wheelie/stunna/I'm faster than you functionality.
