Just picked this 1100 (gloss black) up after deciding my HJC CARBON AC-12 had seen better days.
- Holy s**t there is alot of air flow
- My round bowling ball head, perfect fit! great comfort, equal pressure around my dome.
- With the visor down and front vent open there is little to no still air around my face. (i can leave it down at a light and not suffocate)
- good visibility
- not heavy at highway speeds
- doesnt 'bobble' head you from air passing over it
- iridium visors are expensive $89 from the stealership (still bought it)
This is an awesome lid only thing is that head turned at highway speeds there is a decent ammount of whistling even with it locked but other than that for the $380 i payed for it i feel it was worth it. Shoei has just made a new lifelong customer out of me...

I feel the same way about the rf-1100. It's more comfortable than my X-11. Besides the mild whistling my only other complaint is that the rear spoiler at the bottom of the helmet kind of gets caught up in my speed hump when I'm in a tuck. I'll probably stick to my X-11 for the track and the rf-1100 for the street. Congrats on finding a great lid.

I love my rf-1000's and once I replace, im sticking with Shoei....1100 or w/e they have out at the time.

You can cut the rubber piece on the back bottom if it bothers you.

Thats the only problem I have with mine also. I had ordered smaller cheek pads for a better fit, installed them, and I just cant get the back to fasten and stay put. It does get caught on my jacket when looking around.

--Just realized you guys were talking about the rubber bump out and not what I was refering to.

As you can see in my avatar pic I have one too... First helmet I've bought but feels like I've worn it forever, it's such a great fit!

Anyone own an Arai as well as the rf 1100? I have an Arai quantum i got from a friend but now that i am going to start riding seriously i want to get the rf1100. The Medium Arai with 30mm cheek pads fits just a hair too tight will the medium rf 1100 be a touch smaller?

That's a nice looking lid!

I've got an Arai Sinister that is pretty tight (figuratively speaking)

Sold my rf 1000 and just ordered my new rf-1100 today from Disco. I went to the dealer and tried every helmet out there and none of them compare to the 1100 for me. Even the X-12 seems to fit weird on my head.
