well to be honest im not a 100 percent sure on how you do, in my manual it says to test the resistance with a meter. i just brought mine over to the dealership and they charged me 30 bucks to test the charging system. you say that u changed the 30amp fuse at the battery, there is also another fuse there underneath the red cable plug thing as well. and also try starting the bike by popping the clutch to see if it will start, have someone push you for 20 feet, just hold the clutch put it in first and then release and give gas. if it starts then you know something with the starter is bad

I am having the same problem. I don't see why it would be the stator, doesn't that just charge your battery when you have the bike running?

The start button turns off the headlights while engaging the starter. So that is not a sign of drawing power.

A $60 service manual will have a wiring diagram and you can check the voltage into the start switch, out of the switch, into the relay, out of the relay and into the starter motor to find out where the problem is.
