Nice to meet everyone, I'm in ottawa Canada and although it's not my bike my gf just picked up an 04 cbr600rr. It's going to be tracked in a couple weeks and then she will likely be converting it to a stunt bike. I'll be doing most of the wrenching so I thought I'd join and introduce myself so I can document the journey and if I run into any issues the forum pages usually contain the answers. We currently have a 2013 zx6r, 2018 z900rs and 2021 cb1000r and I think thos cbr will fit nicely into the garage.

Thanks RedRider, youve been on this forum for almost 20 years I hope you get a lifetime achievement award soon!! We bought our bike from the original owner and it looks like its been well maintained, except for the left side which was the victim of a lowside track incident 😆

I think the previous owner and I are living parallel universes.
Are you a French gentleman from Montreal? Maybe you sold your bike last weekend and don't remember 🤔

Yes! Beautiful! Welcome, and can't wait to see the stunt build!

To be honest I'm not really looking forward to it, I much prefer track bikes and its going to hurt my soul sticking a cage and giant rear sprocket etc... but the gf wants to try stunting so I can see a lot of me sitting in parking lots watching in the future!!

Have you tried to talk her into starting out stunting on a smaller bike? Why does she want to learn on a 400+ lb bike? Let her destroy a Ninja 250 or something.

NRR's post above makes sense.

Can she lift bike up if on it's side?
Ooh snap, will I get corrected for the above remark?

I don't see why. It doesn't matter whether you're a man or a woman. One should be able to pick up their own bike by themselves. What if someone else is pinned under your bike? You should be able to lift that bike.
She is short and small, so probably couldn't raise the bike if she needs to and I have to modify the kickstand because she can't reach the peg to lower or raise it :ROFLMAO:, but she is determined and destroying a ninja 250 was last years mission and what brought us to her buying another bike!!! Got it all taken apart and reassembled, new fluids and steel brake lines and she is ready for 2 days on track this weekend. The rest of the lineup is 2018 z900rs, 2021 cb1000r and 2013 zx6r

I see a theme going on here. Maybe letting her do a couple of track days on the new 600RR will make her forget she wanted to stunt the bike. Take her to a small technical track so she can really put it to good use.

I'd also suggest you buy some race plastics and hang those hard to find OEM fairings on the wall for the future. That way when she does crash it you still have all of your OEM fairings. I got damn lucky on my low side at JenningsGP. How I crashed and didn't even touch the handlebar end is beyond me. Thankfully I have the same Vortex frame sliders and they did an amazing job at taking all the punishment.
That's the good side of the bike, the other side has been lowsided already, I like the oem fairing design it's a shame they are f'd up

The OEM fairings are getting harder and harder to find. I think in another decade or 2 these models (2003-2004) will be sought after as they're the first generation.

The flip side is you can sell the good fairings for good money. You could probably pay for a set of race plastics and have change left over.
