No spark 2005 ****fixed**** BAD ECU

Ignition relay turns on....but the fuel pump relay wont turn on. From the wire diagram the 12 low side comes from the ignition relay to the fuel relay ( the ignition is on feeding 12v to the fuel relay low side) if I send a chassis ground to the fuel relay ground it( the relay) turns on, sending 12v to the fuel pump.....soooo I've got a problem with the brown/black wire to the ecm. I'm not getting a ground from the ecm to fire the fuel relay???? I also have no spark at the plugs???? BAC is shorted at the 12c plugs (blue/gray) and I can hear the ignition relay click when I remove. Yes the kick stand switch is shorted and the ignition switch/run switch is working(bypassed) It's looking like a bad ecm, but I don't have any diagrams of what the ecm is putting out(12v or ground) Any ideas?? I have 12v at the injectors but the grounds are missing. The bike(05) has been sitting since 06. Fuel tank is on the way, with pump. I know I'm missing something....

I'm even open for the nevermind comments....I have a feeling it's something simple. I will be rechecking all the wires from/to the ecm to make sure i'm not missing something

ok here was my never mind.

the BAS is bypassed correctly, because you said the Engine Stop Relay works... but how do you know it's completing the path to the Fuel Cut Relay? test or swap the engine stop relay to make SURE it's working properly. i know you said it works, but how did you verify that? i don't mean to sound critical.

the engine stop relay feeds the fuel cut relay.

as for your no spark... did you do anything under the clutch cover recently?

I know the relay works because I shorted the missing ground from the ecm to ground and the relay sent 12 to the fuel pump....but yes the fuel relay is getting 12v from the run/stop relay, so that part is all well.

Have not pulled the cases yet. Need to find out if I'm missing a ground at the ecm...for some reason I think they are related

And I've checked both yellow connectors and they both look mint

alright. sounds like you're on the right track. check the wire, if the wire is good then find an ecm to swap. there's very little else involved in that circuit that sounds like it's malfunctioning. could be as simple as a punched pin...

A no spark generally means there's no voltage coming from the CKP (i mean IPG or Ignition Pulse Generator, but i call it a CranK Position sensor. i'll try to use the correct terminology here) sensor under the clutch cover either because it's fried, misaligned, or unplugged. generally it's misaligned. If you're getting zero spark all across the board, check that sensor because the ignition coils are driven directly by the ECM.

however... a fried ECM could very well cause BOTH problems...

should have a ecm by the end of the week, it almost seems like i'm missing a ground on the ecm......no ground to the fuel pump (I think it's pin A20) but I don't have the manual in front of me. And I also don't have a ground going to each coil from the ecm. fresh battery and new starter and ground leads to the battery(They were cut)

You mean the one on the left side frame....done. Checked all the ground and 12v on the wiring to the ecm and everything check out....they (the manual) says to replace the ecm so I guess I'll have to wait till it shows up
