I ordered the LED Relay switch from customled.com($15~ish?) I noticed the wiring harness was pretty well bundled up and didn't want to crack it open and splice the wires so I pulled out the wires on the relay from the connector by pushing a small lock pin inside. Once out I Heat shrinked some of the exposed area just so it doesn't short w/ anything else exposed and then stuck them inside the wiring harness where the green/white wire and gray wires are. Then I taped each relay wire to the harness wire so it wouldn't move or pull out. At the time I only had my intergrated tail light turn signals and they blinked normally so i'm pretty sure fairing turn signals added to the rest of the circuit will work just fine as well. No wires spliced :)

Relay wire pulled from connector and heat shrinked

Relay wire inserted into wire harness connector(dont think it matters which one goes where)

Relay wires taped down w/ elec. tape with harness wires

doublesided tape or velcro down to frame under wire harness

I have the motrax flash-it module, and when i plugged it into the white/green and gray wires on the harness, my turn signals just stay solid when I try using them.. any idea?

I bought the customled flasher relay but I had the same problem. I had to do two things different. 1) I had to cut the wires. 2) I attached the red wire to the green-white wire and the black wire to the gray wire.

I think the main reason is because I have front and rear leds.

Sadly the customled relay costs a little more now $19.98 + shipping. It says it is a sale price so no telling how long it will be available for that but it is working great for me.

I just added front LED fairing turn signals in addition to the LED tail light turn signal and everything flashes just fine with just that relay from Custom LED. I haven't added anything else. I have a 2005 600rr.

ATController, I hooked up mine the same way you did. Thanks for the method.

One problem though, my blinkers flash quickly? To make sure I had leads properly seated into the wiring harness, I removed them and tried the blinkers....solid. Re-seated the leads....very fast blink. So evidently that "blink rate" was correct.

Just to be clear, I have LP flushmounts up front, and a clear alternative integrated tail in back; and just as you, I ordered the Custom LED ELFR-1.

Do you like the rate? It seems really fast, and the front blink is barely noticeable. I am worried about the LEO's around here (at least not now, but come spring it will be on!!):book1: C6r

There are only two other difference that I can see that may have required me to cut the wires. I have a 2003 600rr and I have led turn signals in my pegs instead of an integrated tail.

I don't know what either of those two things might change but you never know.

Sorry for bumping back an old thread, but I tried to do this mod today and my harness has all the slots filled. My harness doesnt look like the picture posted up there. If all the slots are filled, what should i do? Thanks.

The slots aren't empty. For an '05 you should be able to slide the flat metal parts you pulled out of the white plug into the harness so that they make contact with the existing wires.

Someone who has done this on an '05 correct me if I am wrong.

I did slide the 2 wires into the exact spots that the original poster slid his into...but all i got was a blown fuse :p. Could anyone help me out with this problem?

Sounds like you put them into the wrong slots and shorted it out.. replace the fuse and carefully try again. I blew a fuse as well trying to figure it out

I have been dealing with JON over at custom for a few months now on a custom application I am working on.

that relay should pretty much be plug and play.
why is there a problem at all?

The ledcustom relay is plug and play...for the 07 and up cbr's. For the 05's and below, we gotta do it some other way. Its not as easy as the new cbrs. Someone correct me if im wrong :]

For anybody having problems with this, here is a picture of how my '03 is wired with the customLED relay.
Sorry. Your picture is probably perfect to understand for normal people, but I can't quite understand what you are really doing right there. So you basically spliced the black and red wires from the relay to the white/green and grey? correct me if im wrong :p.

Basically, but for some reason to get it working on my bike I had to also cut the wires coming from the plug.

Ok, so today i got the relay to work. Basically what i did was splice the red and black wires to the two wires mentioned and it worked perfectly. Simple thing to do. Thanks for all the help.

Ordered the relay and going to do this I still don't understand how the green/white and gray wires can be cut and capped on the plug side without stopping the connection but I'm an electrical nube. Nice write up though.

The green/white and gray wires on the plug side go to the bikes relay by cutting them and splicing your replacing bikes relay with LED relay..
