Ok so I recently bought my first bike which is an 03 cbr 600rr. Now before I bought the bike the guy told me that when you shift there was a noise due to the chain rubbing when you switch gears because it is loose. I have no idea when ill have time to tighten the chain or even take it to a shop im stupid busy with work right now but does anyone else know if the chain being loose would make a "noise" when you shift?:banghead:

yea you should probably make time to get that taken care of.
too much slack in the chain and yea it will make noise.
post up some pics of your sprockets.
just so we can look at them and tell you if you should really be considering buying new sprockets and chain.

One thing you may want to do is invest in tools and do the work yourself.

I biught $80 of tools (could have gotten for cheaper at harbor freight).

With the little work i did when changing my sprockets and chain, and front tire. I saved about $200 on what my local shop wanted to charge in labor. And i stikl use them for maintenance.

But definately get that taken care of. There should be 1 3/8" slack in the chain or about that.

And post pics like dep said.
