I have been doing some work on my 2005 600rr. I rode it just before (about 1 hr before) i started to work on her. Worked like a champ, like always. I took some stuff apart(thrying to change the tank cover) on my bike and was fairly meticulous about putting it back together. I also took off the exhaust and am replacing it soon. Well,,, now she won't start. Is there some kind of sensor that I may have tripped? It turn over just fine but no ignition. A little help please.

Bike is cranking. Fuel pump is turning on. I did loosen the front fairing. I heard someone else on the site talking about a bank angle sensor??? What's up with that.

By the way,,, sweet myspace wallpaper.

thanks man. heh ya like that huh?:icon_lol:

ya unless you messed around near the gauge clusters thats where the BAS is located...you may check the plug. or you may have a pinched fuel line.

The bank angle sensor is a sensor....that in an event of a get-off the bike shuts it's self off....that way you don't harm the engine if your bike is upside down laying next to you in a ditch. myabe that came unplugged when you loosened the front fairing.

I've found the sensor. everything with it looks ok as far as wires into the sensor. Tried to start it up again and almost had it going. Acted like it was going to run but no dice. I took off the front fairing again (yeah that was hell) to see if I had messud up anything and it all looks good. I will check the fuel line.

I also do not have a muffler on it right now (in the process of adding a slip-on). would that cause a big problem? It did start it up last night though with no can, mainly just cause I was curious. May I just say,,,,,DAMN! Perty loud.

hit the starter while holding the throttle wide open
for a few seconds you might have flooded the motor

I tried that too. I have in the past had a little bit of problems with my idle and that made it harder to start but that does not look to be the problem this time.

to be honest with you it might be if your idle is too low the bike will not start
did you try to raise it up and see what happens if not give it a try

I have tried that because that was the same thing that happened to me before with the idle. I have been twisting it tighter and I think that increased the idle if I remember right. Maybe it just has to go further. I don't know, it's pretty tight.

ok if its pretty tight do not attempt to twist it any more otherwise the cable might snap internally which has happened before to another member and there is a thread about that write a check list
1. battery juice
2. fresh fuel
3. fuel pump turns on
4. engine kill switch in the off position
5. bike not in gear
6. bank angel sensor connected correctley
7. fuses are ok
8. the two harneses that are under the left side ram air cover
are plugged in all the way
can not think of anything else good luck
