what are the normal operating temperature's for my 04 600rr?

when cruising around tonight, 45mph 4-5k rpm the temps were pretty constant around 180 (70 degree's outside temp)...then i took a short 1st gear cruise around a dealership parking lot and noticed my temp was rapidly climbing 180, 190, 198, 200, 210....so i got back on the road and let some air cool it off...the temp dropped back to 180-185...so i pull off the road, into my driveway and while the bike is idleing for 10 second's while i wait for the garage door to open, the temp says 220.

so i pull it in the garage and let it idle for another minute to see if the fan will kick on, or if the temp will go up anymore.

it stayed at 220 so i shut it off, then i turned the key back on and the fan kicked on.

after my 30 mile ride tonight, the first time ive heard the fan kick on was when i shut if off and then turned the key to the on position in my garage.

is this normal?
ive read 2 similar thread's with mixed answer's.

what are safe operating temp's for this bike?

i understand there is a temp warning light on the cluster.

Cruising around about 180. In traffic 210-226. Keep in mind the fan doesn't even come on till 220 or 222. The manual states not to worry till you are in the 240-250 and around that the light will start flashing. The highest my ever got was around 229 but the air temp was over 100 and I was sitting in traffic for half an hour. Under 240 don't worry... If you hit 240 then start to worry.

220 is absolutely normal. Don't forget to use the Search function. I think this is like the 4th thread i've seen this week asking the same thing.

It gets up there especially when you stop at lights or in heavy traffic. don't be worried until it hits like 235-240

70 degrees? dam, where you at?

It's hot here, so I'm constantly running in the 190's at higher speeds, 200's in the mid-range speed and 215-low 220's at a stand still.
