Thinking about picking an 04 Daytona 600, not a 675, up in the next few days for a dedicated track bike. Its been wrecked, not bad but it needs some work. That's kind of why I like it. Having a friend check out the motor to make sure its ok. needs new fairings and a few other odds and ends. I think I can grab it for $1500.

Anyone had experience with these type bikes on the track? Looks like it might be hard to find aftermarket parts.

Any opinions and info would be appreciated.

BTW I have 2 CBR600. An 06 and my wife has an 05. Dont want to continue to risk my daily driver on the track. I dont even have a car atm.

Oh and I didnt want to post this on a Triumph forum cause it trying to find some unbiased views, even though most here will lean towards a honda.

actually a triumph would be on my list of bikes to ride. really its your preference, but for 1500 bucks if that trumpet runs great, snatch it up!! a buddy of mine runs a 675 and its awesome. im sure the 600 would be well suited to the track task.

The Daytona (600) represents Triumph's unsuccessful attempt to take on the Big 4 on an even playing field. There is a reason why they abandoned the formula and went back to what they were good at, the Triple.

The Daytona is wide, heavy and underpowered. Everything the Daytona 675 is not. Honestly, you'd be better off finding a F4i or even a F4 and turning that into a track bike.

maybe i will have to offer to sell him my F4i.... its stock, but set up for the track LoL.

This is exactly what I hear from every Triumph owner at the track.
