Hey guys and gurls.. so i have been using the Pirelli sc1 and sc2 on my cbr600rr 2005 on the tracks for last season.. just bought a pair of Dunlops Ntec Slicks (med) Front and (med+) rear... i have never used Dunlop before and for the compounds i chose those 2 because Dunlop were recommanding them... I am a fast rider looking forward to racing next year,, what do you think of the dunlop slicks? should i be very very careful.. or people are going nuts on the grip vs pirelli'ss :surprise:
Second hand info from the track, is (was?) that Pirellis have the most pliable carcass, while Dunlops have the stiffest. This could be a big change depending on how a rider is exploiting their tires. I can't guarantee it holds true still, but the tire guy at your local track should have some great advice, even if they are a vendor for a specific tire brand.
Dunlops are more user friendly (not as sensitive to wrong pressure). The tires are much more different in size, so make sure to adjust your geometry accordingly.
Just take it easy the first couple of stints and you'll be fine. They should last you a bit more too.
