please pray for me. i had an accident while cleaning my chain. and a major part of my right thumb has been amputated. i am in a lot of pain. please just keep your thoughts with me so i can be strong through this.

how did you do that cleaning your chain? good luck, if dr's can do sex changes im sure there is a good one who can re attach a thumb.

oh damn i hope you feel better man. i think this is the second thread i've seen on this site involving cleaning the chain and an accident.

I think that's why we should never put the bike in gear when lubing the chain no matter how cumbersome it is to turn the rear wheel by hand

sorry to hear this bro. You going to still ride? My dads friend/co-worker only has one arm and he still rides, and he's damn good at it.

my guess is he was cleaning all the gunk off his chain w/ a rag, and it caught throwing his hand into the sprocket.

...there should be a warning label that tells you to turn the engine off before touching the chain.
there is. it's called common sense.
