please pray for me. i had an accident while cleaning my chain. and a major part of my right thumb has been amputated. i am in a lot of pain. please just keep your thoughts with me so i can be strong through this.

I think that's why we should never put the bike in gear when lubing the chain no matter how cumbersome it is to turn the rear wheel by hand

I push the chain backwards when I clean and lube it.
Never with the bike running.

my guess is he was cleaning all the gunk off his chain w/ a rag, and it caught throwing his hand into the sprocket.

I could never have thought of trying to clean the chain off with the bike on. When I lube the chain I have it on....but not to clean...
