Plexus and clean often. I've never touched my bike with water or wax.

Plexus is great for your helmet visor and windshield. Works well on painted surfaces too but it's so expensive!

I use this stuff called meguirs wash and wax. It can be had at Walmart and it works really well to keep my bike clean between rides.

For wax, take your pick. I usually just buy whatever looks good at Walmart. You can buy nicer waxes but they will cost more.

+1 I use a spray detailer such as Blue Coral with a microfiber towel. ZEP all purpose cleaner, I use that to degrease if needed near the chain and rear wheel, regularly on the tail light & rear cowl.
I don't use any water, other than a spray bottle to carefully rinse the rear wheel if I have degreased it.

I too will like an answer not the water question... why?

I wash with water and dish soap :grin2:, then a good rinse, wipe down and blower. Then comes the Honda Polish :grin2: for that shine

Not scared of water, water is great, it's is the first ingredient of most cleaners/waxes I use.

I'm not a fan of hosing down a bike or pressure washing it though.

Honda polish is good stuff as well.

I haven't ever just hosed down my bike.. It's garage-kept and i try and keep it dry. Honda Polish is where it's at. you can usually find it on ebay or amazon, or local store. I've tried a little bit of everything, including the full prep and then glazing/waxing. Honestly, some automotive exterior detailer is probably just fine. I've done that a lot too.

Back in 06 sure. Then they pulled it, changed the formula, and it hasn't been the same since. When I worked for the honda dealer we used it on every bike we delivered. When the new stuff came out in 07 we switched to plexus because honda polish didn't work so great anymore.

I don't like water because I don't feel like cleaning and lubing my chain every time I clean my bike. Also F4i's don't have weathertight electrical connectors and corrosion on the contacts is a known problem.

I've been using Plexus for the last year. Love it. Works on everything from windscreens to fairings to visors. Never heard of Honda Polish. I will try that after my Plexus runs out.

You can buy the original formula Honda Polish at cycle gear. It's under a new label, but it's made by the guys that made the original Honda Polish for Honda back in the day. Here's what it looks like.

Does the Plexus clean grease splatter such as chain lube? Will it cut exhaust residue?
Somewhat, and yes. It will also remove sticker glue if left to soak for a couple mins. Works great on the smashed bugs on the headlights when it soaks as well.
Interesting with that original spirits. We were told they removed the OG polish due to emissions from the can, some of the contents weren't allowed anymore.
