It's pretty clear what caused your crash. You're leaning your bike over way too far, and ran out of tire. You need to get off the bike and not sit straight up and down with it.

the bike actually is not leaned over as much as u think, its the way the camera is mounted, hell maybe i was over too much. when i watched it and when i was on the bike that turn i always take easy because it seems thats where all the crashes are...

I'd have to agree with Demented. You're not applying the throttle and it slides out so it's not throttle application. There are two explanations I suppose 1) leaned over too far and ran out of tire or 2) not getting to neutral throttle you slowly overloaded the front until it finally gave out. I would have to say #1 though since it looks like you're not hanging your lower body off the bike enough which is keeping the rest of your body from hanging off as well.

agrre with Dememnted: it's definitely a combination of your bad body positioning and leaning the bike over too far. don't worry, same thing happened to me on my first trackday. hopefully the repairs aren't too expensive and you're ok. bikes and parts can always be replaced.
honestly tho, that was really dangerous when control rider rode over to you and helped check the bike out - that's a corner workers job. and also, first thing you wanna do is get as far away from potential wrecks as possible. if another rider had gone down in that same corner, would have creamed you and the control rider

You're definitely riding crossed up. You should have your head and shoulders off the bike more. You should be looking through the mirror or even below it, you're keeping it over the windscreen.

This is what your upper body should be like. Everyone of them has their head and shoulders way down.

^haha, a bit of an exageration, but yes,

also it seems you made some changes to throttle and lean angle right before the wreak, that could have upset the the rear tire.

BTW, what track is that?

I agree with this 100%
I'm not completely sure but in the video it also sounds like at the time you were in too high of a gear. the bike started chugging in the lower rpms when you got on and off the throttle and like he said it upset the rear. the more consistent the throttle is upon entry, the better traction you'll get from the rear, but you need to carry more speed the lower you get. your lean angle looked fine actually but not for the speed. I would force your head and shoulders over near where the mirrors would be and follow a straight line slightly hanging over the bike.

That would upset the front more then the rear. Throwing all of the weight load to the front then taking it off real quick is a fast way to fold the front.

I still say he leaned over way too far.

The point isn't to lean the bike it's just necessary to get it to turn. Ideally you would keep it straight up and down since that is where the tires have the ideal contact with the road. But we don't live in an ideal world so, if you hang off the bike while turning you have to lean the bike less which means you stay closer to that ideal patch of tire and further from the edge. So now you have a larger contact patch which allows for more mistakes; you can either lean the bike more if you need to or correct for any braking/throttle inputs (not big ones though!) AND you can get on the throttle earlier (this comes with practice).

Don't try to be a MotoGP superstar. Their bikes achieve insane lean angles even though they are hanging way off because they are going crazy fast thanks to the bikes and tires they have that we will never get. Instead watch Eugene Laverty ride and try to be more like him. Since he is riding a 600rr and has race tires we can buy he is a better example of how we should be riding.

I was talking about changes made mid corner. yes rev matching is needed especially if you don't have a slipper clutch.

oh i wasnt talking about your post. it just that when he is coming to a turn i dont see any rev matching when downshifting. he doesnt dump the clutch cuz i dont see any jerking but a few times i did, anyways seems like he just release the clutch slowly and rides it so it doesnt jerk which is bad.

scariest track I've ever seen in my life.

trees everywhere, big dirt walls, gravel, no runoff, narrow.

I don't think I'd ever wanna run a few hot laps around there.

Its wicked fun though, the closest next track is like 3 hrs away this is only an hr from me, so thats why i ride this one, workin on faster runs, biggest thing is the others around me, they are unPRedictable which i got to compensate for them.

Is 4 hours less on the road driving worth putting your life in danger by riding an unsafe track with unsafe riders?

well, good point...
it has a lot to do with the cost and i have ridden this track plenty of times and this is the first time something happened, but yeah they are working on safety issues like an air fence and some new pavement for the track. i dont think i will ride this track again this yr might go to PIR(PORTLAND INTERNATIONAL RACEWAY) see how it rides.



Is 4 hours less on the road driving worth putting your life in danger by riding an unsafe track with unsafe riders?
