I emailed all my local representatives yesterday. This bill is nothing more than ANOTHER massive power grab by our government. This is sickening and disgusting.

This is just going to make piracy even worse. Way back in the days, ppl copy cassette tapes and videos and sell them. Then it got worse with the cd technology, making it easier to copy and distribute content. Then, they shut down the early P2P programs like Morpheus, Kazaa, Napster etc. Then what happened? Torrent happened, and they've created a monster bigger than they can even imagined, losing hundreds of billions of dollars in the past 10 years. Torrent now accounts for almost half of all internet traffic. It's not going away that easy. Even if it does go down, something bigger will just replace it.

piracy isnt the problem, its the censorship that is the issue.
you will always be able to get bootleg products, who cares about that when they are allowed to censor the fukin net. that would be the same as if they had book bans here,

apparently obama has or will have the power to shut internet access down for 4 months if a state of emergency is declared. ( skimmed over that topic on infowars) fed gov is too big, they have their hands in just about everything that is daily life. it has to stop and reverse

vote for ron paul !

i just got this in my email box this morning.

"Happy Holidays -- we have some great news to share.

We've just won two huge battles in the fight against Internet censorship -- everything you are doing is working! First off, the House of Representatives failed to move SOPA out of committee! Why? Because their offices got swamped with phone calls and overwhelmed by the snowballing opposition. Thank you for helping make that happen.

Second, in response to the boycott of GoDaddy, the web hosting company just made a public announcement that it's dropping its support of SOPA. Amazing what you have made happen.

Yet, we can't let GoDaddy off the hook just yet. GoDaddy supports the Senate version of SOPA, called the PROTECT IP Act (PIPA). The boycott has to continue -- Please click here to pledge to join it.

Please join us in holding GoDaddy accountable, until they drop any and all efforts to support not just SOPA, but also its Senate cousin, PIPA. The boycott already worked to get GoDaddy to change their position on SOPA, now we urgently need to hear from GoDaddy about PIPA too.

So what's next?

The PIPA bill is still alive and strong in the Senate, and could be voted on in January. Like SOPA, it threatens free speech, innovation, and the basic structure of the Internet.

Keep transferring your domains from GoDaddy until they fully come out against PIPA and SOPA. They need to send a letter to Congress making their opposition to both bills clear -- Click here to join the cause.

Thank you for all that you do -- it is working!

Tiffiniy & Phil

Fight for the Future

P.S. Please use these links to ask your friends to hit GoDaddy where it hurts, by pledging to join the boycott too:"

SOPA was blocked. I'm absolutely certain that this is not their last attempt though!

I'm no conspiracy theorist... However I have no doubts that our own government stages or performs some of these large scale hacks then publicizes it in order to gain backing for things like internet censorship and control. Our government wants to control everything that we do and it cannot stand a loose end. Especially one as large as the internet.

It really is only a matter of time until they succeed. The only thing we can do is fight it for as long as possible.

personally i hate that conspiracy theories are so taboo, it would not be the first time the gov has lied to its citizens, yet people still choose to look the other way.. i just dont get it.

People choose to look the other way because it doesn't yet affect their daily routines. They can still sit on the couch at home, drink their Coors' light, and watch ridiculously overpaid athletes run around with a football on their big screen TV
