I have this game. Extremely difficult but well worth the time. Once you get over the fact that you're going to replay the same levels, fight the same monsters, and run the same course until you hit the next waypoint, you'll enjoy it. And best to beat this game before dark souls comes out later this year.

I love Demons Souls - it's challenging but probably one of the fairest games you'll ever play. If you die it's because of something you did, you didn't dodge in time, you attacked excessively and wore out your stamina, you tried to kill the red eyes knight, etc. It's a great game and well worth as much time as your willing to put into it.

Like Jade mentioned Dark Souls - the spiritual successor is scheduled to be out Sep/Oct and looks to improve on things. The experience from Demons Souls will be valuable though, game is cheap enough now anyway. Definitely pick it up this year.

And crazier is that Dark Souls is being touted as more difficult than Demon Souls! Didn't know that was even possible. Hope it's not like the old school Ninja Gaiden.

I tried playing this last night for the first time. It seems okay. I think Elder Scrolls: Oblivian is hella better in the RPG world, though. It's hard not to compare the two and I think it's ruining the experience for me...

Servers are back up and running. And it is a pretty dark and loney game. It was designed that way. But seeing others running around and encountering the same difficulties really helps to build a sense of "I'm not in this Sh*thole alone." Haha, weird but comforting feeling. And it gets better as you progress further into the worlds. Hope you stick it out!

Blue souls are people you summon to help you out - you can have two of them in your game at once. They only stay until you die or beat the boss though, then they get their bodies back. Red souls are people invading you, they exist to **** your day. What you saw was probably a white soul - other players online at the moment doing stuff, it's a nice touch.

Oh and bloodstains also pop up red tinted souls, not the same as invaders but that's where someone recently died. You can view their last moments of life and hopefully learn something from it.

If you summon someone or are invaded the game will tell you with a big freaking message across the screen so just pay attention. The game has no pause button so be aware if you run to the bathroom or something you may be killed.
