I had fork seals done by a shop last year and have maybe put 400 miles on the bike. I noticed that there were fluid streaks on the fork tubes so brought the bike back into the shop for them to take a look at. They explained to me that its just lube from putting the fork seals in and should go away with more mileage. To me its not an extreme leak however when i wipe it away it comes back. They tech claimed they looked behind the dust boots and were dry.

Is this something that sounds reasonable?

It's not rare if you don't use the bike to have some oil escaping from the fork seals.
I would say clean it again, use the bike and look at it if more oil comes out of the saels.
If keeps on loosing oil I'm afraid it will need to be serviced again.
Contact the shop again to look at it and they will adviced you what to do.
