i just bought an 07 and it seems too me like the qualifiers that came stock are abnormally hard. I had pilot powers on my 03 and can't remember anything before them so not sure. anyway. I can't check my psi for a couple days so i don't know if its at max 36-42 (which i suspect). Guys at cycle gear say qualifiers just suck that much and they don't turn worth a damn.


Q: Is my bike resistant to turning because of

A: Tire Pressure

B: Crappy Stock Tires

C: Something I Have Overlooked

Resistant to turning first thing to check is tire pressure
from factory front should be 36 PSI and rear 42PSI

Check the steering stem nut it might be too tight

You got to also remember the 07RR has a built it damper
if you are not used to having one on a bike that might give
you the feeling of resistant turning which in essence is normal

thanks. but it just feels like the tires don't want to stick. i get em warm to. psi or crappy tire hmmm. the search continues

qualifiers are not bad tires. Some reviews had them placed as first lol.

If you are saying the tires do not want to turn on your commute to work or in the canyons then A. Solution: Raise the air pressure.

If you're saying this trying to put laps in at the circuit then B... Solution: Get some dot "race" tires.

For someone to qualify a modern sport tire on the street as 'not sticking' because of the compound... I call BS.

my 07 came with the suspension set very soft and didnt want to turn either. quick suspension tuning took care of it.
also, are you riding street or track. if it doesnt want to turn on the track and you are at full 36/42 pressure that is too much air.
the last time i was at texas world speedway the michelin tire tech there recommended 30/29 as a starting point but to set your pressure cold so that they gain 5psi when about 180 degrees. my qualifiers ran 30/30 and ran perfect.

its kinda funny about cycle gear though, the cycle gear guys in san antonio love them.
