Race bodywork

I have a 2010 and I've be narrowing my list of goods for my first trackday. a good number of people have told me to get race fairings so I don't kill my stock ones if I fall. I agree it's not a bad idea. My hope is not to fall.

My questions is will 07-08 race fairings fit a 2010? I know the rear of the side fairings are different. From the pics I've seen it looks like they would bolt up.

Attack and Sharkskniz race bodywork does fit from 07-11. So it depends on the brand.

i have armour bodies 07-08 race fairings, and it bolts up just fine.
If yyou have a look at my mod thread you can see my race fairing build..just had the same problem last month. Bought 08 fairings for my '10 bike n they fitted fine, the abs module was exposed though which needed to be covered in the rain.

On another note, I wouldn't recommend splashing cash on race fairings just yet. If it's your first Trackday just make sure you take your time building up your pace and orienting yourself around the track and ride within your limits (only push 80% max) n you'll be fine. If you do get addicted n feel like you'll be doing loads more, it'll be worth getting the fairings.

Before spending on fairings though spend some cash on a good set of tyres n set up your suspension. This will dramatically decrease the risk of you low siding the bike
^ In my humble opinion

Had susp set up lastnight and and tires for sure.

I'm pretty good at riding within my limits. I would rather work on finding the best line than just trying to go as fast as possible. I try to ride pretty level headed. I haven't decided if I wanna get them for the first day but also didn't think it would be a bad idea either. If I have the spare cash to throw at it (after tires and such)

sounds good to me mate. id been doing trackdays for two years before i decided to get my race fairings..started to push a lot more now and had lost the front twice, picked up the bike n saved it. only got the race fairings because it allows me to push a bit more without worrying AS MUCH about the damage if i do drop it.

to be honest its a bloody pain taking off the OEM fairing and headlights etc..easy to fit and remove race fairings..and then a bloody pain again to connect up everything all over again! i did a couple of trackdays in a row when i switched the fairings! not worth it for just one day IMO :)

wish you the best bro!
Another thing I thought about was buy some cheap fairings from eBay. I figured it would be an eqaul pain to swap them for track days.
I got my Optimal race fairings for like 300 bucks. But for an 06. I think the price is about the same though. You wont really find some cheap fairings on ebay less than that.

There is a down side to the cheap ebay race fairings, they are generally only good for one crash. I have to agree with gashuffer, look into the Optimals, they are a great value. They also crash well, and mine handled cartwheeling down the track and I only had to repair 2 spots.
