Is there any way to angle it down some more, by about 20-30 degrees?

otherwise I have to put my foot beside it, as it is so sensitive it makes the brake light go on at the slightest touch

Thanks,

Only if you can smell burning!

The pedal isn't adjustable for position. Normal riding position is balls of the feet on the footpegs. Move your foot to cover the footpedal when required, eg slow riding, danger ahead etc.

Get used to riding on the balls of your feet, as it gives more control and ground clearance. It may feel odd at first, but it will make sense eventually.

Otherwise, buy expensive rearsets to allow some adjustment. My advice: move your feet, it's free!

If you loosen the locknut and then adjust the rod on the pedal linkage, you can move it down until the rod bottoms out, thats it, no more. Then you have to adjust the brake light switch so you have to move the pedal a bit for the light to come on. If it's too sensitive it will light when you ride over bumps.
