On my 2004 Bike please can anyone tell me as I am not at the bike just now.
What the top and bottom screws do on the rear shock as well as the tool ratchet thingy on the spring at the bottom.

What's stock settings
What's anti clockwise or clockwise when turned with the spring thing.
Clicks from screws....

Thanks

Are you talking about an OEM 2004 shock? Those are not adjustable so the bolts are there just to keep the shock in place. the thingy at the bottom is the suspension linkage also knows as the Unit Pro-Link.

I think he's talking about the adjustment screws, not the mounting bolts.

The top most adjuster near the oil tank is the compression. The bottom adjuster on the clevis mount is the rebound. The preload has 7 steps. I don't know if it's clockwise or anticlockwise to move the preload up or down, but I imagine one would find out real quick.

Settings claimed stock, 2004 CBR:
Rear standard compression setting: 7 clicks out from full hard
Rear preload standard position: #3
Rear rebound standard position: 1-3/4 turns out from full hard

Oh whoops you're right. The compression adjuster has a marking on it S (soft) - H (Hard) so that will be easy to set.

Is the compression the top one so I am guessing thats when I sit on the bike or when I hit a pot hole for bike to react?

I'm not well versed enough in suspension settings to tell you definitively. There's a lot better guides on the forum under the suspension section, as well as on the internet; I'd look there first.
