I installed Leo Vince Evo II last week and I was running it with the baffle in until today cause I already liked the sound and volume. But this morning I took the baffle out and rode to work. And holy smoke my ears are still buzzing. It's waaaayy too loud. First thing I'm gonna do when I get home today is put the baffle back in lol. I can get earplugs and keep it like this but I don't want to annoy people and catch unwanted attention from cops especially here in CA where it's not legal.

But I can't deny it does make lovely sound. Today was the easiest lane splitting ever. Kinda like the scene from Bruce Almighty where Jim Carey makes way for his car :)

You should always wear ear plugs anyway, wind noise is a hearing killer!

I have a full Leo Vince system, I never use the baffle. Haven't put it in for so long I'm not even sure where it is! Yeah it's loud but I like to be heard, especially when in town and no one is looking out for you. That said, police in the UK don't care how loud you are as long as you're riding sensibly and safely do if it's going to get you into trouble over there then I'd keep the baffle in.

Yea earplugs is what I'm gonna start riding with anyway. Problem with loudness exists only in California; rest of the US is fine with it.
No matter what people say I think loud pipes can definitely help avoiding, some if not all, accidents.

Couldn't agree more, I've definitely avoided a few accidents by being as loud as I am. While there are downsides to it, I'd always rather other road users knew I was there.

Tbh as long the the exhaust is a road legal one I'd rather get stopped from time to time and know that I was noticeable on the road.

Some people say it helps and others say it doesn't but I still ride like I'm invisible.

Yep even when you see them look you in the eyes.

+1 it doesn't matter if you're quiet, loud, all in black or as high vis as a copper, nothing should alter the way you ride or how you perceive the dangers presented by other road users.

I employ the strategy of moving faster than the flow of traffic to minimize time spent in blind spots, anybody else do this?

To a degree, it depends on the traffic. Definitely worth moving through the traffic where possible though, makes the chance of you being near an idiot or an unobservant for a pro longed period if time smaller.
