I am curious if anyone has a Garmin (or any other GPS) hooked up to the battery on their bike and if so, how did you do it?

I think the simplest solution is to hook it up directly to the battery and run an in-line fuse on the power cable.

If anyone has done this can you provide me with some detail on how the power source was hooked up? Maybe I am over thinking the complexity of this but I don't want to screw up my GPS device.

I'll provide a "how-to" when it's complete.

Thanks in advance.

use the harness coming from ign key switch (harness runs from key switch on the right of triple tree and goes under tank) 2 wires, one is constant +12v power, the other is ignition +12v (power w/key on) , use the ign wire with a fuse for gps + power (chassis ground gps - wire), this way gps will be on/off with ign, no risk of leaving the gps on!
